Progress... progress...

Every day I get closer to the finish line.

Sometimes the writing feels like a romp: quick, easy, adrenaline-inducing, and overall exciting.

Often it's the opposite as everything slows down to a grinding halt and you have to slog through a mountain of text, adding to it piece by piece, little by little. It's not glamorous. Sometimes you'll be lucky to get in a hundred more words in a day.

Depends on the writer, but a writer's block will haunt you either seldom or often until your masterpiece is finished. It's unavoidable. Only by toiling away will you reap the rewards.

For me one of the greater smaller rewards after banging my head against the keyboard for so long is seeing one more chapter finished. I kid you not, it is exhilarating, and offers a good boost in morale to help get a good head-start on the next one.

Lo and behold.

Chapter 18 is now done. Three more to go and the draft is over.

Of course I cannot wait for you all to see it in it's entirety.
